The Journey back

Day 10

The end of the journey

The next morning, we woke up and got our stuff ready before we journeyed to the airport. Our flight was at noon and we needed to be at the airport about three hours earlier. It was still too early to summarize our trip, but our general feeling was that it was a worthwhile venture and that we'd made the best of it. We had important information to collect, and missing parts of the puzzle to track down. We managed to visit most of the places we planned to visit and filled in the gaps of Sarah's story. We will never be able to experience the same journey she did alone, as a Holocaust survivor, or recreate the events; but we will cherish them in our heart. We managed to locate most of the information we needed to complete the puzzle, but without the help of wonderful Tomash we would have never made it so far. We also planned every day of the trip in advance, which was smart in the long run.

The taxi arrived downstairs and we said farewell to the hotel and to Hungary. We could've stayed a few more days in Hungary and explored more sites, but we were all tired and we had to catch the flight. We left with many memories and a mutual experience we will always remember.

Finished, but not yet complete!
